So. Calif. Earthquake 7/7/2010

Shortly before 5:00 pm last night, 07/07/2010, a 5.4 earthquake hit southern California in a little town called Borrego Springs. Borrego Springs is about 200 miles SE of my home in Hemet, CA. The news reports went a little nuts, spending an hour or so trying to fill air space with conversation about earthquakes. Someone sent in a picture of a kitchen filled with debris on the floor and on the counters, but it looked to me like a BEFORE picture of the house of a hoarder. That junk looked like it had been sitting on the floor and counters for months. I'm a doubter on this one. My hutch full of crystal barely rattled. It just felt like a big truck rolled by outside. There may have been some damage somewhere, but I doubt it was wide spread. It was just another rock 'n roll day in this part of world. Why the news has to make a big deal of what is common place is beyond me.
